Data Quality

Traders choose CQG because they trust our data's quality, accuracy, and reliability. CQG continues to have the highest commitment to providing reliable accurate data. Primary and failover data centers worldwide ensure uninterrupted market data distribution. A data quality group monitors our global data network 24 hours a day to ensure our customers get the clean data they need, when they need it.

  • CQG was the first to utilize real-time data corrections and continues to use forward thinking technology to make CQG's data the best available.
  • CQG created proprietary software to help our Data Quality team to monitor and correct data quickly.  No user-end database management is required.
  • Price corrections and deletions are automatically processed when the exchange sends them down the dataline.
  • Decades of the industry's most accurate historical data are available for traders to use in CQG Integrated Client.
  • With CQG running on an Internet connection, computer downtime doesn't mean gaps in charts.

Extended Historical Data

Integrated Historical Data

Digital Data Service (DDS) / Links to Excel
CQG Digital Data Service (DDS) enables users to establish real-time links between Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and the CQG platform. You can build portfolios and collect market data including study values, bar values, and volume.

In addition, information from the Tullett SwapMarker for US Treasury and Interest Rate Swaps can be linked to an Excel spreadsheet.

CQG includes several Excel spreadsheet examples:

  • labels.xls – Displays a list of labels and examples of DDE spreadsheet links
  • prtfolio.xls – Displays a sample of links to futures and stock symbols
  • studies.xls – Displays a sample of retrieved CQG study data
  • getsym.xls – Displays a sample of retrieved CQG symbols
  • getbars.xls – Displays a sample of retrieved CQG bar data
  • cqgswapmarker.xls – Displays a sample of retrieved Tullett SwapMarker information for US Treasury and Interest Rate Swaps

Each of the sample spreadsheets can be saved with a new name and altered to suit the trader’s specific needs. To best use this technology, understanding Visual Basic for Applications programming is necessary.

Restrictions
All data extracted are to be used only within the spreadsheet or with other applications running on the same computer as CQG. The data may not be distributed in real-time to another computer in any manner, either physical or electronic.

CQG does grant the license to use the extracted data on another computer for end-of-day accounting.

Technical Studies

CQG offers more than 90 popular studies, some of which can be found nowhere else, and CQG also adds new ones at traders’ request.

Studies can be placed on the toolbar so you can add the study to the chart by one click or you can call up a study from a list by right-clicking on the chart. CQG retains a list of your most recently used studies, so you don’t have to look through a long list each time you want to add a study to a chart.

After the study is plotted on the chart, a right-mouse click on the study brings up a menu with the following choices:

  • Add a study on the study
  • Remove the study from the chart
  • Modify the parameters of the study
  • Set the color for the study
  • Select a condition for marking the study
  • Add a study alert
  • Hide update levels
  • Information about the study (go to a help file on the study)

The help files provide an explanation of the study, how traders use the study, and default parameters.

Studies can be modified and the changes saved, but later, the default parameters can be reinstated.

CQG offers the ability to develop custom studies through the Formula Editor, and the study can then be added to the study list and toolbar for quick access.

CQG provides the trader with an easy-to-use interface and a no-compromise approach to technical analysis.
